story: the old man, the old woman or the young boy. Write the story in the FIRST PERSON (use 'I' and 'me' and 'mine' to show that the story is told from the character's viewpoint).

The 2014 Brother Tony Whelan Public Speaking Competition
Year 6 students will be participating in the Brother Tony Whealan Public Speaking Competition in Term 3.
All Year 6 students will choose from a variety of provided topics and prepare three minute speeches on those topics. All students should prepare two topics from the 11 topics provided below. Students will present speeches over Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 3.
The Peninsula North Cluster Public Speaking final will be held on Tuesday 19th August at Sacred Heart Mona Vale School Hall at 9:30am. Two finalists from Sacred Heart along with finalists from five other North Cluster Catholic schools will present their three minute prepared speech and a one minute spontaneous speech at the Cluster Final.
Topics for this year's speeches are as follows:
1. “When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills.” Chinese Proverb 2. Speaking up for the voiceless.
3. Critical information.
4. Virtual world
5. Crystallography
6. Food for thought
7. Animal heroes
8. Cars
9. Game of choice
10. Water challenges
11. Family matters
